Michigan and Michigan State football don’t like each other. It was never more evident than on Wednesday evening with a little Twitter spat.

It’s going to be a fun season.

Michigan State and Michigan current and former players went back-and-forth on Twitter Wednesday thanks to an innocent tweet from Spartan Digital’s account.

OK, maybe it wasn’t meant to go unnoticed, but the account tweeted essentially that Luke Campbell out-toughed Michigan’s all-everything linebacker Devin Bush on a certain play. Michigan fans and one former player didn’t take too kindly to it.

Khalid Hill’s words didn’t go unnoticed, though. Brian Allen responded with some trash talk of his own, backing his former teammates.

A friendly little reminder that Hill’s program has only beaten Michigan State two times in the past decade and he went 1-4 against the Spartans.

Hill then responded with a video of him knocking down Montae Nicholson, a defensive back who is about half the size of Allen, challenging him.

If that wasn’t enough, Jack Allen chimed in.

Hill went on to say he’s never heard of Jack, either, despite the former Spartan lineman being named an All-American back in 2015.

Someone must have told Bush what was happening so he decided to respond to the Twitter scuffle with a tweet he knew would get under Michigan State fans’ skin.

As if that wasn’t enough, Joe Bachie caught wind of Bush’s tweet and quoted it.

The rivalry is heating up again and it’s only July. Just imagine what it’ll be like come Oct. 20 in East Lansing. The two sides really don’t like each other and I think we may witness the best game in the rivalry in the Mark Dantonio era.
