Now this one could be interesting. Joe Bachie just has that grit, toughness and attitude of a Spartan captain at middle linebacker.

There’s no debate about his talent level, either. He led the Spartans in tackles as a sophomore, racking up 100 with 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and three interceptions. He did it all for Michigan State and it’s hard to believe he was just a low-rated three-star recruit out of high school a few years ago. He’s already exceeding expectations.

Bachie has that ‘SpartanDawg’ personality and he’s not afraid to let his teammates hear it when they do something wrong as well as accept responsibility when he makes mistakes himself.

Michigan State has been graced with the presence of elite middle linebackers over the years and Bachie is no different. He’s a near-lock for All-Big Ten first team in 2018 and he could be one of the best leaders for MSU since Max Bullough.

This defense is in good hands with guys like Bachie, Khari Willis, Raequan Williams, Andrew Dowell and Kenny Willekes all candidates for captainship. Who will be voted one by teammates, though?
