Chris Webber stirred up some controversy this past week by stating that Draymond Green probably wouldn’t start on all NBA teams.

Here we are again, another NBA postseason with Draymond Green at the center of everyone’s attention.

The former Michigan State star has crafted himself into one of the best players in the NBA thanks to his ability to defend any position and his leadership. Green was once the national player of the year at the collegiate level and he’s been making waves in the NBA.

On top of that, he’s also one of the more controversial players in the league, never afraid to speak his mind no matter who he may offend.

However, he was on the wrong side of some Chris Webber comments recently and he was asked about it in the post-game press conference.

Webber made a statement during the live TNT broadcast of Game 5 between the Warriors and Spurs regarding Green’s worth around the league. Although his comment wasn’t meant to be negative toward Draymond, it still stirred the pot because, well, it’s not true.

After a strong assist by Green in the first half against the Spurs, Webber raved about the impact he has on the team and stated that if teams around the league were looking at him to be a scoring option, he wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter.

Every team in the league knows exactly what Draymond is, though. He’s the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year and one of the most versatile players the league has seen.

Draymond’s response to the statement was perfect.

Would Green be a starter on every team in the league? He’d tell you he doesn’t care about that comment because it means nothing to him, but the answer is simple: yes. He’s earned the right to be called an All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year, on what team would he come off the bench?

Sorry, Chris, the fact that Draymond has proved he’s one of the best players on arguably the best team in the league proves he’s good enough to start on them all.
