Michigan State has earned a matchup with No. 11 seed Syracuse on Sunday afternoon. It’s time for some bold predictions.

The Spartans are headed for a second-round battle against Syracuse and it’s going to be an intriguing matchup. Here are some bold predictions to hold you over until Sunday.

5. MSU will finish with 10 or fewer turnovers again

If I told you that Michigan State would have just 10 turnovers against a team that likes to run and gun just as much as the Spartans do, you would have called me insane. Well, Michigan State cut the sloppy play against the Bison and finished with just 10 cough-ups.

Yes, the silly mistakes were still prevalent — all you’d have to do is look at the poor alley-oop attempt by Cassius Winston to Nick Ward in the second half to realize that — but the Spartans were playing smarter as a whole.

As long as Winston doesn’t attempt to force the ball into tight windows and toss up ill-advised alley-oops on easy 3-on-1 fast breaks, the Spartans will be in line to finish with another 10 turnovers or less type of game.

Syracuse has a defense that gives opponents fits, but Michigan State is going to pass its way to victory.
