Michigan State’s four-star small forward commit Gabe Brown was asked to join LaVar Ball’s new BBB league and he declined.

LaVar Ball loves his headlines. The father of current Los Angeles Laker Lonzo Ball and both Melo and Gelo Ball who he removed from school to play basketball in Lithuania is taking risks these days. He’s even sliding into the DMs of currently committed high school basketball players, including Michigan State’s Gabe Brown.

On Friday, Ball extended invites to about 80 college basketball commits, asking them to join the JBA, which is his new business venture.

Essentially it’s a league for college-aged basketball players who will receive pay instead of heading to college to play for a year. It’s a risky idea, but one that LaVar believes will pay off.

However, Brown has since declined the offer, according to Tipton Edits.

You have to give it up to LaVar for making this seem like a world-class offer. It starts off with a “Congrats Gabe” headliner and it’s followed up with a generic statement about the junior basketball association, even tagging the “@jba” in his direct message.

What makes this a little ridiculous is the fact that he provides a link to what looks to be the JBA Twitter account, but it’s actually the page of a guy named Josh Aronson. Looks like LaVar hasn’t worked out the kinks of running his own junior basketball league just yet.
