Michigan State football had an impressive 2017 season following a disaster that was 2016. What’d we learn about this young, improving team?

Mark Dantonio and Michigan State football are back. After taking a one-year hiatus, the Spartans found a way to take care of business in 2017 and get back to their winning ways after going just 3-9 in 2016. Michigan State got back to the style of football that made it successful through Dantonio’s first nine years and finished 10-3.

If you’re the rest of the Big Ten, you have to be worried about what Michigan State brings to the table moving forward. While the Spartans don’t recruit as well as Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State, they develop talent just as well as anyone.

That was proven in 2017 with one of the youngest teams in college football and with LJ Scott announcing his return for 2018, the Spartans will bring back 19 out of 22 starters. That’s a cause for celebration in East Lansing. The 2017 campaign was successful, but great things are in store.

What’d we learn from Michigan State’s 2017 season?
