Saturday’s afternoon’s Michigan State vs Oakland game is going to be intriguing for a non-conference battle, and here’s how to watch.

Michigan State (9-1) has begun the season red-hot with a couple of wins over top-10 teams, but somehow the Spartans were passed up for the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 this week. Does that bother Tom Izzo and Co.? Absolutely not.

The Spartans know that they just need to win and the rest will take care of itself. Oakland (6-4) is the next test for Michigan State as Miles Bridges will lead this team into battle on Saturday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. It will be the second game of the day at the new arena, following up Michigan versus the University of Detroit Titans.

Bridges is finally healthy, but Oakland is not. The Golden Grizzlies have suffered a couple of big injuries, including one to star Illinois transfer Kendrick Nunn who is averaging over 21 points per game. Unfortunately, he will miss Saturday’s game. That doesn’t bode well for the Golden Grizzlies.

Can Michigan State take advantage of an Oakland team that isn’t near full-strength? Greg Kampe will have his team ready, but Tom Izzo doesn’t take this program lightly.

Michigan State is going to need to be on its ‘A’ game to avoid an upset bid by the Golden Grizzlies, but injuries might be too much for Oakland to overcome.
