Michigan State Basketball: Report card for Nebraska win in Week 4
Offense: B
The offense wasn’t nearly as effective as it should have been but it salvaged its grade by getting to the line 36 times, making 27 of its free throws. Not many teams can get to the line that much, but it just goes to show what good can come of taking the ball to the rack.

Nick Ward’s offensive efficiency continued as he was 6-of-7 from the floor and made 10-of-13 free throws. If he can average 6-8 free throws a game, Michigan State should feel good about its chances down the stretch. Getting to the line has been a major key, and he did just that.
Another major bright spot was the lack of turnovers. Michigan State finished with a season-low six turnovers, which has been an area of weakness. The Spartans were smart with the ball, made some good passes on drive-and-dish scenarios and moved the ball well. They finished with 16 assists on 27 made field goals.
However, Michigan State was just 5-of-19 from 3-point range and stalled a bit in the half-court offense again. Still, scoring 86 points and getting a ‘B’ grade just shows how good this team can be.
