1. Cassius Winston is going to be special

If you went to bed after the first half and saw that Cassius Winston had just five points, I feel bad for you. Fans who missed the game on Friday night didn’t get to witness something special take place. Winston took over and truly looked like the player everyone expected out of high school.

Sure, Winston has had flashes of greatness before, but Friday night happened to be his best performance since stepping foot on campus at Michigan State. He put the team on his back in the second half and essentially made everything he threw up.

Winston finished the game 12-of-15 from the floor and 10-for-11 in the second half. He looked like an All-Big Ten player and potential All-American point guard and if he continues to take over games like he did, the Spartans are going to have a special player on their hands.

Tom Izzo knows what Winston is capable of and he’s said it multiple times that he’s sometimes too careless with the ball. He finished with five assists and no turnovers on Friday. There’s a special player blossoming in East Lansing.
