Michigan State Football: 5 players who need to step up vs. Maryland in Week 12
By Stephen Robb
The Ohio State game has to be a quarterback’s nightmare. I remember Kirk Cousins commenting on how Nebraska gave him fits. Maryland is not the team it was at the start of the season, however, they have been known to hustle.

This is not a game MSU can afford to sleep walk through. Brian Lewerke will should be able to have enough time in the pocket to throw yet he will have to use proper mechanics.
This team this season has gone as Lewerke has. In today’s college football, any team is only as good as it’s quarterback play. The Spartans learned that lesson in 2012 when they had a top-10 defense full of studs and where unable to move the football.
Lewerke needs to get going early and if he can, MSU will pull out a win. Maryland does not have the athletes that Ohio State does, and the Spartans can take advantage. It will be a big day for Lewerke. I am anticipating 250 yards passing and three touchdowns.
