Michigan State Football: 5 reasons Spartans will beat No. 13 Ohio State

2. Brian Lewerke’s versatility
Brian Lewerke has been a difference-maker for this Spartan team. Last Saturday should prove to any doubters that he is the real deal.
I would even take this a step further and mention that with all the Heisman candidates turning in terrible games from time to time, that Lewerke be considered given what he has done and meant for the program already. However, I do realize he is most likely a year away from being considered.
Lewerke has had his fair share of growing pains but he has made plays. This is something Dantonio has always put on his quarterback’s shoulders. It’s the difference between a team winning and losing. It was tough to watch the Notre Dame game but you also had a sense that this kid would live up to the hype and he has.
Now it’s time for him to face the Buckeyes and their vaunted defensive line. It’s important to note that Nick Bosa will miss the first half of this game due to a targeting penalty he received in the first half at Iowa. Lewerke has the legs to get out of the trouble that OSU can cause.
