Michigan State football takes Ohio State in Columbus this Saturday but the Buckeyes are favored by more than two touchdowns.

Earlier this week when head coach Mark Dantonio was told by a reporter that his squad was more than a two-touchdown underdog versus Ohio State, there was a look of pleasure on his face.

Michigan State seems to thrive in these ‘us against the world’ type of games. In 2015, the Spartans went into The Horseshoe without their gunslinger Connor Cook. They pulled off a magical upset and Michael Geiger’s kick went into Michigan State folklore.

Saturday is another chapter in this new rivalry that shows promise of another magical opportunity for the Spartans. Ohio State is coming off a tough blowout loss to Iowa. The loss was particularly disconcerting because it was a week after the revenge game victory over Penn State. Going into last week’s game at Iowa, there was talk that JT Barrett could be a Heisman finalist.

Now that talk has disappeared. There’s no doubt that the Buckeyes will be looking for some redemption against Michigan State in Week 11, though. Here are five reasons the Spartans will upset Ohio State.
