Saturday afternoon’s Michigan State vs Northwestern game will be one of the most interesting of Week 9. Here’s how you can watch online.

Week 9 is a crucial one for Michigan State. No, the Spartans aren’t in danger of missing out on a bowl for the second straight season as they’ve already locked up a berth, but rather a Big Ten title hangs in the balance. A victory for Michigan State would improve the Spartans to 5-0 in conference play.

That 5-0 start may not seem like a huge deal, but it sets up Michigan State with an unbeaten mark before a big Week 10 matchup against Penn State in East Lansing. That could be one of the biggest home games for the Spartans in two years.

Brian Lewerke will need to put in some major work to lead the Spartans past the 4-3 Northwestern Wildcats, though. This team isn’t going to just hand Michigan State a win, but the Wildcats always seem to play the Spartans tough.

There have been some instant classics played in Evanston, including the 2010 ‘Mouse Trap’ game which featured another Mark Dantonio trick play for the win. Will Saturday provide more classic Michigan State vs. Northwestern moments?
