1. Michigan State wins in another instant classic

There’s the ‘Mouse Trap’ game in 2010 which featured a fake punt pass from Aaron Bates to Bennie Fowler with the Spartans down 24-14 in the fourth quarter and also the epic comeback in 2006 with Michigan State down 38-3 in the second half. Evanston has produced some incredible MSU-Northwestern games.

This year will be no different.

The Spartans will be traveling into hostile territory on Saturday afternoon, but Mark Dantonio said he expects 10,000-20,000 Michigan State fans in attendance. If that’s the case, it will almost feel like home-field advantage for the green and white — almost.

Still, the game will be tightly-contested and will go down to the wire. Michigan State will fall behind 14-0 in the first half before pulling within four, 14-10, at halftime. The Spartans will score first to start the second half to take a lead, but Northwestern will add 10 straight points.

With the fourth quarter underway, Michigan State will add a field goal and then an LJ Scott scamper with under three minutes remaining. This game will have an ‘instant classic’ feel.
