1. Spartans become bowl eligible by November

This would be the best news to come out of East Lansing concerning Michigan State football in months. After a 3-9 campaign last year, everyone expected the Spartans to have a similar season in 2017. However, Michigan State already matched its win total from last season in four games and the Spartans have a tough stretch approaching.

Three road games in four weeks will test this team’s mental toughness. If Michigan State can win two of those, like I believe it will, then the Spartans will have one game to win in the final month to make a bowl. However, people seem to forget that Indiana game in East Lansing should play into the Spartans’ favor.

Michigan State can win two road games (Minnesota, Northwestern) and take care of business against the Hoosiers at home and then it will be bowling by the time November rolls around. If that’s the case, imagine what type of confidence this team will have when it faces Penn State and Ohio State.

Heck, Michigan State might be more of a 7-8 win team rather than the previously-expected 5-6 win squad.
