Michigan State football could have an impressive bounce-back campaign in 2017, says Big Ten Network’s Gerry DiNardo.

The Big Ten Network made its last leg of the bus tour of the conference’s East division on Saturday as it stopped in East Lansing. Michigan State football held practice for the network to watch and a couple of analysts had sparkling reviews of the team.

In fact, one in particular was ranting and raving about MSU all day.

Big Ten Network analyst Gerry DiNardo had nothing but good things to say, not that he’s said bad things about any program, about Michigan State during Saturday’s tour of East Lansing.

In fact, he even predicted a Spartans’ bounce-back in 2017.

Not only did he say that bounce-back was in full gear, but he spoke highly of the guys on the team, saying that practice was vocal with high energy and enthusiasm. That’s something Michigan State fans love to hear.

The “on third base” comment refers to Mark Dantonio’s comments in the offseason. He stated that some of the guys on the 2016 team were born on third base. That means essentially they thought they deserved the world without putting in the work.

None of that this year, though, according to DiNardo.

On top of that, he compared the 2017 Spartans to teams prior to the 2015 Big Ten title squad.

Getting that “Spartan Dawg” personality back is key for this team’s success and there’s no better way to turn things around than to add the “chip” to the shoulder.

Contrary to popular belief, Michigan State has talent on the roster for 2017, but the expectations are lower than in previous years. These quotes from DiNardo provide reasons for optimism. The season can’t get here soon enough.
