Michigan State Basketball: Spartans miss cut for 4-star PF Trevion Williams
Michigan State basketball missed the cut for four-star 2018 power forward Trevion Williams from Sterling Heights, Mich.
With a few more Michigan State basketball targets making their decisions, prospects like Trevion Williams have to decide what to do with limited spaces available in the Spartans’ 2018 class.

The four-star power forward/center combo could still make a case to join the Spartans’ forward-loaded 2018 class, but he has opted to go a different route, according to reports.
Evan Flood reported on Twitter Sunday that the elite in-state target is down to two schools: Purdue and Xavier. He also plans to make a decision next week.
The timing makes sense. Michigan State just reeled in two four-star forwards in the past month. First, Gabe Brown committed to the green and white and then, just last week, Marcus Bingham Jr. picked the Spartans. That left an unfavorable position for Williams who has since decided to go where he’s needed most.
Williams is an impressive talent and his game resembles that of Caleb Swanigan, so it makes sense that Purdue is one of his final choices. The Boilermakers would love to have another big who can pass, dribble and shoot, and with a little molding, Williams will be just that. He’s ranked the No. 97 recruit in the class and second-best target in the state, according to 247Sports.

Tom Izzo can now cross Williams off the board less than a week after he was forced to move on from Brandon Johns. The Spartans have a couple of targets left in the class, but as of right now (not counting potential early departures), they have no open scholarships.
