Michigan State Football: CB Vayante Copeland no longer with team
Michigan State football lost another player on Tuesday, this time in the form of junior cornerback Vayante Copeland.
The tumultuous offseason is almost over, but not before one last farewell is given to a Michigan State football player. On Tuesday, Mark Dantonio met with the media and released a final roster before summer practice begins.

Everyone that was expected to be on the roster appeared, minus one name: Vayante Copeland. The junior cornerback had been rumored to have been kicked off the team, but Dantonio quickly refuted the claim, saying that he was never booted.
However, the head coach did claim on Tuesday that he wished Copeland the best of luck and that he never was thrown off the team — basically, he left on his own.
The junior cornerback burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman and Dantonio had even compared him to Darqueze Dennard. He looked to be Michigan State’s next lockdown cornerback, but suffered a season-ending injury against Oregon and never was the same.
Entering his junior year, he looked to be fighting for a starting job with true freshman Josiah Scott, but now he will be searching for a new program to finish his career at — unless the injuries have ended his playing career early.
