On Monday, the Ingham County Prosecutor’s office issued charges for the January incident involving the three players.
The statement released by the prosecutor’s office refused to name the three players, keeping that behind the scenes — for now. It also stated that the players should be considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law since there’s a difference between being charged and being found guilty.
Basically, the players will have to appear in court and a judge will put the whole situation to bed when the time comes. While the program desperately needs this situation to be in the past, the staff realizes that until everything is solved, the program can’t truly move forward.
Fortunately for Mark Dantonio, the Michigan State Board of Trustees gave him and Mark Hollis a vote of confidence on Monday and an external investigation revealed that he did not attempt any sort of cover-up.
