Michigan State Football: Kevin Williams signs with Bengals as UDFA
Former Michigan State football defensive tackle Kevin Williams has signed a deal with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent.
When he came over from Nebraska as a grad transfer, no one knew what type of impact Kevin Williams would have on Michigan State football.

However, he cracked the starting lineup and appeared in all 12 games. He started eight of those at defensive tackle, but he had a decent showing for a unit that underperformed greatly in 2016. Now, he’s signing on with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent.
Williams isn’t the only Spartan who will be joining the Bengals, though. He will be joined by Tyler O’Connor, Demetrious Cox and Monty Madaris who all joined Cincinnati as undrafted free agents last week. The Bengals’ roster already has Darqueze Dennard and Domata Peko, making this a popular destination for Spartans.
Reigning from Holland, Ohio, Williams will be heading back home to try and make the hometown team. Both O’Connor and Madaris are trying to do the same.
After recording 27 total tackles, 10 for loss and three sacks at Nebraska, he transferred to Michigan State and finished the 2016 season with 25 total tackles and a fumble recovery. He didn’t get into the backfield as much as he wanted, though.

Michigan State will have to replace him and guys like Malik McDowell, Gabe Sherrod, Brandon Clemons and Evan Jones next season. It’s not going to be a simple task even though the defensive line can only get better.
