According to reports, Michigan State basketball star Miles Bridges is ‘leaning heavily’ toward returning for his sophomore year.

Talk about the “Woj Bomb” of the year for Michigan State basketball fans. Freshman sensation Miles Bridges is reportedly leaning toward staying for his sophomore year. While fans knew this for some time, Adrian Wojnarowski reporting it just makes it that much more concrete.

On Wednesday afternoon, The Vertical‘s NBA insider broke the news that Bridges apparently cancelled agent meetings and is ‘leaning heavily’ toward returning for his sophomore season.

As if that wasn’t good enough news, Wojnarowski also stated that he is expected to finalize his decision after meeting with Tom Izzo.

Bridges is the best freshman Izzo has ever coached, so to have him back for another season just makes the Spartans that much more of a contender. This is something that fans didn’t even think was possible a few months ago and now seems to be coming to fruition.

As a true freshman, the former five-star from Flint averaged 16.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. He shot 49 percent from the floor and 39 percent from 3-point range. He’s clearly a lottery talent, but his legacy in a Michigan State uniform is important to him. If he returns, the Spartans become instant title favorites.

The fact that he’s cancelling agent meetings must mean that he got his mom on board with him staying another year. Time to bring a title home to East Lansing.
