Michigan State football held a team dunk contest recently and Trishton Jackson reportedly came out on top.

After a rough 3-9 season, it’s always important to get some team-building exercises in to improve morale. Mark Dantonio is no fool. The Michigan State football coach gathered his team at the basketball practice gym last week for one of the more creative morale-boosting exercises.

The Spartans not only got to infiltrate Tom Izzo’s practice facility, but they took the court to shoot some hoops and get in a dunk contest.

Football players are incredible athletes, but it’s always exciting to see guys who are used to catching passes or scoring touchdowns rise to the rim for a dunk. Moreover, when the dunk has some flash, it really shows what kind of athlete the football player is.

As the tweet reads, Dantonio claimed Jackson as the dunk contest winner with a score of ‘9’ to bear the field. The first dunk of the video of his was impressive for a second-year football player, but he did play some basketball at West Bloomfield in high school.

Michigan State looks to be having fun this offseason in the midst of some legal issues with three unnamed players. If Dantonio can keep these guys loose, a nine-win season is very possible in 2017.
