Michigan State Football: Cassius Peat transferring back to MSU
Michigan State football is adding a familiar face back to the program in former three-star defensive lineman Cassius Peat.
Bad news has been the common denominator for nearly everything related to Michigan State football this past year. The offseason headlines have been cringe-worthy and the Spartans even lost a 2018 commitment from four-star wide out Joseph Scates this week. However, the news of Cassius Peat’s return should lighten the mood a bit.

After decided to head back home to Arizona this past season, it looked like the Spartans lost out on him as a player, but he had kept in contact with the staff ever since, making the decision to transfer back to Michigan State.
According to Sean Scherer of 247Sports, Peat is set to transfer back to the program this summer after leaving last fall.
"“Yup, I’m enrolling at Michigan State this summer,” Peat said. “I’m planning to enroll there for summer session one.”Peat always knew in his heart that he wanted to be a part of the Michigan State football program and finish his degree at MSU.“I always felt like I was a part of it even though I went home for a family reason because my coaches kept in contact with me and so did my teammates,” Peat said. “So I’ve always felt like I was in the program.”"
This is great news for the Spartans who have seen a mass exodus on the defensive line over the past couple of years. They will also be losing Malik McDowell, Kevin Williams and Gabe Sherrod before the upcoming season.

It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Peat earning some serious playing time on the defensive line and the Spartans could be the youngest group in the Big Ten. He could form a formidable duo with Raequan Williams up the middle.
