Michigan State Football: Jon Reschke transferring is the right move
Michigan State football lost another key player on Friday with the transfer of Jon Reschke, but it’s the right decision for the team.
It may not be the news Michigan State football fans want to hear, but the decision for Jon Reschke to transfer is the correct one. With one year of eligibility remaining, the soon-to-be senior grad student will finish his degree in East Lansing and find another school to close out his collegiate playing career at, he announced Friday.

The All-Big Ten caliber linebacker released a statement via Twitter and it had been rumored for a few weeks already that he may be leaving, and it became official on Friday afternoon.
Here’s the statement:
Why is this the correct decision for the former four-star linebacker from Birmingham (Mich.) Brother Rice? Because his attitude was harmful to the team and if head coach Mark Dantonio and him mutually decided it was the right decision, it must have been affecting some of the players’ attitudes toward him.
The last thing Michigan State wants is another locker room rift in 2017.
Reschke’s talents will be missed and he did seem like a good kid, for the most part, so this departure will hit the veteran leadership next year, but that opens the door for a guy like Chris Frey to become more vocal and step up as a potential captain.

Not the best news for a Friday evening, but it’s the right choice for the sake of Michigan State’s team chemistry.
