We have heard it many times before, playing for Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State football program is an honor and a privilege. Famous actor, Michael B. Jordan, wanted to have the privilege of joining the Spartan program as he committed to Michigan State Wednesday afternoon on The Dan Patrick Show.

Just in case you don’t know, Jordan played East Dillon High School quarterback Vince Howard on the TV show Friday Night Lights for two seasons and really made a name for himself as one of the best gunslingers in the nation. He happened to be a heck of a dual-threat who started out as a running back, but quickly made the transition and went from troubled teen to team leader.

The show concluded before we could ever see where the talented young quarterback from Texas ended up.

Dan Patrick decided to give the famous actor a chance to tell America where he would have committed had the show kept going. The final three schools in the running were Michigan, Texas and Michigan State.

Well, Howard made the best choice.

“Taking my talents to East Lansing. Dantonio coming to play for you.”

If only Howard was a real football player, because he was a heck of a talent. As you could tell by the tweet above from head coach Mark Dantonio, he was very pleased with the young actor’s decision to pick the green and white.
