It is finally here. No more speculations, no more training camps, no more closed scrimmages; the 2015 Michigan State football season is about to begin.

More from Spartans Football

High expectations come with this Spartan team that have been discussed at length. Coach Mark Dantonio and the Spartans are about to embark on what could cap off an amazing run that started in 2013. Spartan Nation is about to find out if all of the hard work that has been talked about, written about and over-analyzed in the offseason will produce results and wins on the field.

The Spartans’ first game of the season comes on Friday night under the lights at Waldo Stadium against the Western Michigan Broncos. This game is a part of the ‘Celebrate The State’ series that was created by Michigan State AD Mark Hollis.

This game should present a great test in a hostile environment as MSU begins its season. Western’s offense will provide a great assessment for the new blood coming in on defense, as P.J. Fleck has great talent at wide receiver and an experienced quarterback returning.

This article, however, is not a preview of the game, a comparison of offensive and defensive schemes, or an in-depth look at Western Michigan’s team. I am going to make five bold predictions that Spartan fans will be sure to see happen on the field Friday night.

You won’t see obvious or easy ones, like Connor Cook will throw at least one touchdown or Michigan State will rush for over 100 yards. Those will happen, or at least they better or Spartan Nation will be in for a long, nail-biting night.

The upcoming slides are going to go out on a ledge and boldly predict specific events, plays, and statistics that are going to lead to a dominating Michigan State victory (that’s a bonus prediction before we even get started).

Let’s take a look at five bold predictions for Friday night’s game.
