After committing to Nebraska two years ago to join brother and starting quarterback Taylor Martinez with the Cornhuskers, Mark Dantonio was kicking himself for missing out on the talented athlete who considered himself quicker than his blazing-fast brother.

Martinez decided to attend a junior college instead and eventually decided to go with Dantonio and the Spartans this past year as a JUCO transfer.
Michigan State can consider itself lucky as Martinez may be one of the most underrated young newcomers in the conference this season. He joined the Spartans as a linebacker and has been turning heads ever since stepping foot on campus for the first time.
Wilson got this interesting quote from Dantonio:
"“I think Martinez is a guy that can really, really, run,” Dantonio said, “but he’s gotta learn some things as we go, but he really runs and he contacts people.”"
If Martinez can showcase his athletic ability on the defense, he will have no problem become a great addition to the middle of the defense.
You can bet that this would be quite a surprise if he could somehow win the starting job over guys who have been on campus for two or three years already.
