Coming to campus in 2013, the four-star inside linebacker from Brother Rice (Mich.) was expected to be the next coming of a guy like Max Bullough. He looked the part and it seemed like it would only be a matter of time before he filled in at middle linebacker and led the defense.

However, after three years with the team, Reschke is now a redshirt sophomore who is fighting for a spot on the depth chart.
After the first release of the 2015 depth chart at Big Ten media days, Reschke found himself fourth at the Mike linebacker position behind Riley Bullough, Shane Jones and Sean Harrington. It was a bit of a shock for everyone who knows just how good Reschke can be, but he has battled injuries.
According to Mike Wilson, Dantonio believes Jon could seriously push for the starting role, however.
"“Jon Reschke is another guy that we lost last year, but he’s a very good player,” Dantonio said. “He figures in to be one of the best three or four best linebackers right now.”"
If the sophomore can prove he wasn’t just a flash in the pan at Brother Rice, he will be one of two or three guys who will get reps at the ‘money’ position.
