Michigan State football is just over three weeks away and those who are counting down the days know just how long this time of the year can seem.

The leaves have not yet changed, but are on the verge, and the weather is still averaging out in the 80-degree range. It’s fall football camp season, but the regular campaign just seems like it has been taking forever to approach.

Ever since the Spartans took home the Cotton Bowl crown in January, fans of the green and white have been itching for the highly-anticipated 2015 season. And when I said fans, I mean everyone — players, coaches, families alumni, etc.

This team has a chance to be something great and the confidence in the locker room is at an all-time high. Just ask Malik McDowell and Lawrence Thomas who have called the 2015 version of the Spartans’ defense possibly the best in school history.

Mark Dantonio has assembled a fantastic group of players and the expectations are at an all-time high — even more so than going into the 2014 season after the Spartans won the Rose Bowl.

August is here and that means that fall camp has begun and position battles are all the rage, but as for the circus that is modern-day recruiting, it’s still in full force.

That’s why I would like to take a look at five bold predictions for possible happenings in the month of August pertaining to recruiting and depth chart battles.
