Rushing yards: Jarek Broussard

This may surprise some people because Jalen Berger has been on campus longer, but Jarek Broussard is my current favorite to take the field on Sept. 2 against Western Michigan as the starter.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Berger is going to be the perfect complement to Broussard in the backfield and the two will combine to make up a nice replacement backfield for Kenneth Walker III.

Broussard could very well rush for 1,000 yards this year and I think he’ll do just that but Berger won’t be far behind.

Rushing touchdowns: Jarek Broussard

This is strictly basing things off of who I believe will get the most touches, but Berger may very well be more of a goal-line back. I still think Broussard will have some Walker-like runs where he busts a long one for 50-60 yards and picks up touchdowns that way.

I like both Broussard and Berger to score more touchdowns together than Walker did by himself last year. They’ll make up for that lost production — hopefully.
