MSU Football: 7 players trending up after 2022 spring game
Brandon Wright is much like Justin White in that he came into his own over the course of the season. He recorded sacks in the final two games of the year and brought speed.
Mel Tucker has been very complimentary of Wright this offseason, and those praises were well warranted during the spring game. Wright was speeding through the drills and then through the offensive line.
The converted running back has a lot to offer for the team that is graduating most of their pass rush with Jacub Panasiuk, Drew Beesley, and Drew Jordan all having moved on. The starting defensive end spots are open, and Wright is looking to lay claim on this spot, and I firmly believe he can. Oh, and is now a good time to remind everyone that Brandon Jordan is coaching him?
Would I buy this stock?
Yes. Wright wreaked havoc on the Penn State and Pittsburgh offensive lines to end the year, showcasing his potential. Wright will, at the very least, make an excellent situational pass rusher for the Spartans and get to the quarterback. If Wright can break out at defensive ends, the entire team will benefit. The defensive backs will have to spend less time in coverage, while the defense can stay off the field. I think if there is one Spartan defender primed for a breakout, it is Wright.
