MSU Football: 7 players trending up after 2022 spring game
Davion Primm has gotten compliments from the entire staff over the course of the spring sessions, and he warranted the hype on Saturday. Primm looked explosive and even on smaller gains, he was trying to fall forward and squeeze an extra yard or so out of each run.
Unfortunately, due to the loaded depth at the position, Primm did not receive many touches during the live period of the scrimmage. On the few times he did, however, all eyes were on him.
After catching a pass out of the backfield, Primm made a few quick cuts and had Chester Kimbrough off balance with the potential to pick up a few more yards. However, Primm’s momentum combined with Kimbrough’s excellent angle led to a modest five-yard gain, but if he is already at the “one step away” stage as a freshman, he will be the next Spartan great before his career in the green and white is over.
Would I buy this stock?
Yes, but I’d reserve the option for more in the future. Primm is dynamic and should see his fair share of touches this year, but I cannot see him taking HB1 all to himself this year with Jalen Berger, Jarek Broussard, and Eli Collins as competition. Berger, Collins, and Jordon Simmons all had their own excellent plays on Saturday and this running back room excites me for the future.
