1. Michigan State will make it to the second weekend

During the Spartans’ most recent slump, there were a number of fans and college basketball experts who abandoned the Michigan State hype train.

The one-time top-10 team was no longer considered a legitimate Final Four threat but a bounce-back win over Purdue really changed some opinions. While Michigan State still needs to show some consistency, a strong finish to the regular season and a deep Big Ten Tournament run will provide some momentum for this team heading into the NCAA tourney.

Michigan State will be either a No. 4 or No. 5 seed after finishing the year 6-2 in the final eight games and it’ll win a tight first-round matchup against a pesky 12/13 seed. They’ll get a favorable 4/5 matchup in the Round of 32 and they’ll find a way to win and head to the Sweet 16. Michigan State will be trending in the right direction, proving everyone wrong.

After making the Sweet 16, things will get really tough. The Spartans will be one of just a few teams to make it this far (joining Purdue and Illinois) and they’ll have to likely face the bracket’s No. 1 seed. This will be the ultimate test.

While I don’t see MSU upsetting the likes of Gonzaga, Arizona, Kansas, Auburn, or Baylor, I think they’ll put up a decent fight. When they play to potential, they can beat anyone.

In the end, it’ll be a decent run for Michigan State to end the year and head into the offseason with much better vibes than it had during February.
