1. He elevated the entire Michigan State football team

This is quite easily the best argument for why Kenneth Walker III deserved to be in New York with the rest of the Heisman Trophy finalists this coming weekend.

Walker elevated the entire team this season.

If you take the other Heisman finalists off their current team, there’s a good chance they still have the same amount of success that they had (maybe minus Kenny Pickett). If you take Aidan Hutchinson off of Michigan’s defense, it’s still very solid with David Ojabo and others and the Wolverines probably win the Big Ten either way. If you take CJ Stroud off Ohio State, it has other four and five-star quarterbacks to replace him. The same can be said for Bryce Young at Alabama.

Without Walker, Michigan State is not 10-2. He almost single-handedly led the comeback against Michigan and was the reason the Spartans were able to pull away in a number of games.

Without him, Michigan State might be 7-5 or 8-4. He has accounted for at least a couple of wins which makes him college football’s most valuable and most impressive player.

Walker is college football’s best player.
