Michigan State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Maryland in Week 11
2. Kenneth Walker III will rush for 175 yards, three touchdowns
When a player is making a run for the Heisman Trophy, all the pressure in the world is on their shoulders. Kenneth Walker III has to be feeling that pressure with just three games left in the regular season as he is sitting at over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns but he’s still playing at an incredibly high level.
After torching rival Michigan for 197 yards and five (!!) touchdowns, he had a “quiet” day with 136 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries against Purdue. Any running back would kill for a day like that, let alone an “off-day”.
Walker had 100 yards at halftime but only touched the ball five times in the second half because the defense was on the field for a majority of the time, surrendering third-down conversion after third-down conversion. Michigan State only had the ball a few times and it was playing from behind.
Even though the Spartans are down a couple of linemen, I think we’re going to see a Heisman-like game from Walker against the worst run defense left on the schedule. He’s going to rush for over 175 yards and three scores, pushing his total over 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns on the year.
