Special Teams: A

Once again, the special teams starred. The scoring got kicked off with a Jayden Reed punt return for 88 yards. It was the second straight game in which he returned a punt for a touchdown and he really set the tone. If he can continue this success in the return game, Michigan State is going to have a ton of success this season.

Reed also had two solid kick returns, averaging about 34 yards on each one.

Matt Coghlin was 2-for-2 on field goals and 6-for-6 on extra points as the field goal unit cleaned up on some mistakes with holds a week ago.

The kickoff unit was good as well as they didn’t allow a single return thanks to the booming leg of Coghlin, kicking it out of the back of the end zone each time.

Bryce Baringer was a star a week ago and had just three punts on Saturday night, averaging just over 44 yards per kick. He’s had a really good year so far.

Special teams has taken a massive step this season.
