Michigan State football commit Julian Barnett is making his presence felt on the field and via social media, becoming a fan favorite.

Becoming a fan favorite at Michigan State isn’t easy. You either need to make an incredible game-winning play, like Michael Geiger or Jalen Watts-Jackson, or showcase your hatred for that rival in Ann Arbor. Heck, just giving it all on the field will do the trick, too.

Before he even gets to campus, four-star 2019 commit Julian Barnett will be one of the early fan favorites of next year’s team. Why is that? All you have to do is look at his Twitter to realize just how ruthless he is to that team down the road.

Here’s a gem from when Michigan won to advance to the national title game.

Former Michigan cornerback Jourdan Lewis is who Barnett is tweeting at because, well, he doesn’t really care what anyone thinks.

Here’s another harmless one about today’s video game trends.

Barnett is just having fun with former Michigan safety/linebacker Jabrill Peppers, but there’s probably some real trash talking going on, too.

Then there was this reaction to three-star linebacker Marcel Lewis committing to the green and white over Michigan earlier this week.

As you could probably tell, he got some backlash from Michigan fans for that tweet, but it was a jab at former Michigan commits who uttered this phrase before flaming out in the maize and blue over the past decade.

The blue-chipper from Belleville responded to the haters with this simple tweet:

Lastly, what gets recruits remembered most is turning into recruiters themselves. Barnett has taken it upon himself to reel in one of the biggest fish Mark Dantonio has ever attempted to land: Devontae Dobbs. In case you don’t know, Dobbs, a five-star tackle, is also Barnett’s teammate at Belleville and the two have a unique friendship.

Michigan State will be in good hands once Barnett gets to campus, but until then, he will be one of those Spartan legends off the field.

Becoming a fan favorite before a freshman season may be a first, but Barnett is well on his way to that honor.
