Michigan State basketball signee Aaron Henry received a major ratings bump on 247Sports, earning a fourth star from the recruiting service.

When speaking of Michigan State’s 2018 recruiting class, players like Foster Loyer, Marcus Bingham Jr. and Gabe Brown all immediately come to mind. Thomas Either is another who gets love, but he missed his entire senior season with Clarkston because of a fumble by MHSAA.

However, one recruit who always seems to fall through the cracks, undeservedly, is four-star small forward Aaron Henry. If that doesn’t sound familiar, it’s because it’s not something that you could call him before Thursday as he was given his fourth star by 247Sports.

Not just that, but the Michigan State signee was given a major ratings bump, going from No. 163 to No. 101 in the 247Sports rankings.

When you watch his highlights, you would realize that this bump in ranking was a long time coming as he has the skill set to be an instant contributor for the Spartans in 2018-19. He is clearly the most underrated recruit in the Spartans’ class.

Henry stands 6-foot-5 and weighs in at about 200 pounds, making him the perfect size for a wing in Tom Izzo’s offense. He could also defend the two and three positions. He has more bounce than you would expect from a player his size and could be a solid defender, too.

Michigan State’s 2018 class could end up being one of the best in the Izzo era despite not having that ‘superstar’ player. Kithier, Loyer, Brown, Bingham Jr. and Henry could all be four-year players with potential through the roof.
