3. Josh Langford bounces back with hot-shooting performance

Sophomore wing man Josh Langford has had a strong season for Michigan State. Not only has he doubled his points per game production from a year ago, but he’s also become a better passer and more confident shooter.

Last year, he was dealing with a nagging hamstring injury which many saw as a limiter to his play. He never really lived up to his potential in year one and many were quick to jump off the Langford bandwagon. That’s made them look silly this season as he’s been much more effective and he’s trying to base his game around Gary Harris.

Through the halfway point in the season, he’s averaging 13.7 points and making about 48 percent of his shots from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range. He’s improved in most major categories and looks like a completely different player — and more of a slasher and not just a jump-shooter.

Langford is coming off a 3-for-9 shooting day against Maryland in which he was the only starter to not reach double figures in scoring and he just looked off. He’s going to bounce back against Ohio State to finish with 15-20 points on over 50 percent shooting.
