2. Win the turnover battle

I thought I had seen everything and then I witnessed LJ Scott’s fumble in the end zone. I wasn’t surprised and deep down I almost expected something like that to happen. Why? This Spartan team likes to find ways to shoot themselves in the foot.

Call it what you will: youth, inexperience or something else. The frustrating part is you know this team is better than the mistakes it has made. This team is an explosive offense and possesses all the skills to beat Iowa. However, it remains to be seen if they are able to put together an error-free game.

They are learning and it’s a process. They will get better, but can they do it on Saturday? I have no idea. For the most part, this team is hungry to put 2016 behind it and that’s why it takes more risks. The turnovers will taper off as the season goes on. Hopefully they will be able to force Iowa into some turnovers.
