Michigan State Football: 5 breakout candidates vs. Western Michigan
I see big things for Josh Butler in the future, but he needs to get off to a better start against Western Michigan than he did against Bowling Green. He allowed a long pass play from James Morgan to Datrin Guyton in the first quarter which set up a field goal for the Falcons.

Fortunately, he rebounded from that, and so did the rest of the secondary. The Spartans locked down much better throughout the game and held Morgan to just 10 completions on 31 attempts. He also had just 145 yards passing and a touchdown.
Butler is projected to be the starter at cornerback again this week against the Broncos and although Corey Davis is no longer there, the defense should be gearing up for a tougher matchup than it had in Week 1. However, Western had just 94 passing yards against USC. Can the Spartans dominate as well?

I’m predicting a big game from Butler after he had three takedowns and a pass deflection in the opener. He’s going to finish with six tackles, his first interception and two defended passes.
