Offensive Lineman(3): Flozell Adams

Looking at Flozell Adams, you could see just why he deserves to make a list like this as one of Michigan State’s all-time greatest offensive linemen. Our third selection was born and raised in Chicago, Ill., before getting recruited by Nick Saban to play for MSU in 1994 through 1997.

Standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 368 pounds, Adams definitely has that look of an All-American caliber offensive lineman. He was nicknamed “The Hotel” and it may have had something to do with just how massive he was. Adams wasn’t an overly athletic lineman, but he did the job as the Spartans had an impressive run game during his time with the Spartans.

Adams was named a first-team All-American and the 1997 Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, really making a name for himself as the 1998 NFL Draft approached. He was selected early in the second round as the No. 38 overall pick in the draft. He played 13 seasons in the league, 12 with the Dallas Cowboys, being selected to five Pro Bowls and starting 194 games.

Although the Spartans didn’t win a bowl game with Adams as right tackle who moved to left tackle, he would be a perfect addition to this all-time team and could you imagine this year’s team with a guy like Adams anchoring the line along with Jack Conklin? Just scary.
