A tough day for this group, for the first time this year they were not at their best. Granted it was under some sever circumstances with Cook coming out of the game and a complete abandonment of the pass game. The receiving group was only able to muster 121 yards on the day.

Even with Cook on the sidelines and the passing game taking a back seat there were still plays to be made and the Spartan receivers did not come through as they have all year. For the first time this year the receiving core had a case of the drops. While they catches would have been tough the receivers have been making those types of plays all year.

It wasn’t all gloom and doom, Macgarrett Kings had a circus catch to keep the drive alive and it appears that he is finally getting into a good rhythm, putting together consecutive solid game performances.

Although it feels like a record on repeat, just like the rest of the offense the passing game and receiver need to get back on track in the upcoming week. It will be imperative for them to move the ball downfield through the air against the Buckeyes.
