Not enough can be said for how special this tandem of running backs really is the year after Jeremy Langford was dominating the backfield. Now the Langford is with the Chicago Bears, Madre London and L.J. Scott have taken over to provide a solid one-two punch that many defenses have a hard time stopping.

Scott had his best game of the season for the Spartans, rushing the ball just 18 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season. On the year, he has 376 yards and four touchdowns on 6.2 yards per carry — he is living up to the hype and then some.

As for London, he has put together a nice string of games as well, finishing Saturday’s contest with 97 yards on 17 carries, pushing his total to 372 on the year with three scores.

It’s entirely possible that both of these guys could reach the 1,000-yard mark by the end of the year, especially if they keep running like this. The Scott/London combo is one to watch this season as they have really yet to disappoint — besides maybe the game against Air Force, but that was on the offensive line.
