Oklahoma State continues to cruise through the first part of its schedule, but the tough games are coming up. The Cowboys took down a decent Kansas State team last week and quarterback Mason Rudolph had himself a game, passing for 437 yards and three touchdowns in a game where the rushing attack just couldn’t get going.

It’s tough to move such a talented team down 11 spots, but the way Georgia lost to Alabama on Saturday in Athens was just ugly. Greyson Lambert looked absolutely awful, completing just 10-of-24 passes for 86 yards and an interception. Nick Chubb should have had the ball in his hands more as he was the lone bright spot, rushing for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Stanford is looking more like a top-10 team in the country each week and less like that squad that couldn’t score against Northwestern in week one. Kevin Hogan was nearly perfect in a 55-17 blowout of Arizona at home, completing 17-of-19 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. The defense looked great against Arizona’s backup quarterback while Christian McCaffrey had 17 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown.

Northwestern continues to really impress this season and look like a team worthy of a higher ranking. I’m not quite sold on the Wildcats just yet, but a 27-0 win over a Minnesota team that some thought might creep into the Big Ten title conversation is a good start. Justin Jackson had yet another 100-yard rushing game while quarterback Clayton Thorson rushed for two touchdowns while passing for 128 yards on 14-of-19 completions.

Florida made the biggest jump in Spartan Avenue‘s rankings this week as the gators were unranked last week, but dismantled Ole Miss at home, 38-10. Will Grier looked great for the Gators as they seemed to have found the quarterback for the future, passing for 271 yards and four touchdowns while Florida’s defense stepped up big-time, holding Ole Miss to just over 300 total yards.
