Local: No. 17 Michigan Wolverines football embarrasses UMass Minutemen in Ann Arbor 63-13

UMass at No. 17 Michigan Wolverines football— Michigan Wolverines football capitalized early and often, as the team went on to beat the UMass Minutemen by a score of 63-13 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Saturday.

Denard Robinson was pulled out of Saturday’s game against UMass late in the third quarter after his services were no longer needed; Michigan was leading 56-13 at that point. Robinson finished his day with 16 of 24 passes completed for 291-yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Shoelace was also able to get it done on the ground, rushing for 106-yards on 10 carries for a touchdown.

Other big performers in this game were running back Fitzgerald Toussaint, who rushed for 85-yards and a score, wide receivers Drew Dileo and Devin Gardner, both hauled in huge catches for 40-plus-yards, and tight end Devin Funchess, who reeled in a touchdown catch in the first quarter.

Michigan Wolverines football (2-1) will travel to South Bend next weekend to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
