Michigan State basketball is hitting the road to take on a decent Indiana team on Thursday night and the Spartans are in need of a win away from home.

Indiana wasn’t so kind to Michigan State last season, and that has to be on the minds of the Spartans heading into Assembly Hall on Thursday night.

The Hoosiers came into East Lansing following a Michigan State loss at Purdue and shocked the Spartans in overtime. Looking for revenge weeks later, the Spartans were riding high after beating Michigan on the road to put their stamp on the Big Ten title race but the Hoosiers didn’t care. They held on for a slim one-point win over Michigan State at Assembly Hall.

Sweeping the season series against the Spartans was unexpected, to say the least, considering the Hoosiers were not one of the top teams in the conference.

Michigan State gets its shot at revenge on Thursday night at Assembly Hall against a 14-4 Indiana team, but will the Spartans pull out a win?

3. Rocket Watts scores in double figures again

In back-to-back games, Rocket Watts ahas scored in double figures, making up for a slow start to the season and showcasing some of his stellar moves that made him so highly sought-after in high school.

In fact, Brad Davison got a taste of his devastating step-back jumper last Friday as Watts went on an 8-0 run by himself in the second half to seal a Spartan win. He looked like the player we all saw in high school highlight films that got us excited for his MSU future.

That momentum will carry over on the road against Indiana as he’ll score 10 points or more for the third consecutive game. Watts will finish with 14 points and four assists, giving the Spartans a much-needed boost off the bench.
