Michigan State football will be getting a visit from four-star 2019 athlete Julian Barnett from Belleville, Mich., on Monday.

Michigan State is trying to establish a pipeline from Belleville, Mich., to East Lansing, and so far, it’s working. The Spartans landed four-star basketball prospect Gabe Brown last month as well as four-star cornerback Davion Williams. Now, Michigan State is looking ahead to 2019.

Monday kicks off the Spartans’ fall camp and there will be a number of prospects on hand. One of them happens to be four-star Belleville wide receiver/cornerback Julian Barnett.

The state’s No. 3 prospect in the class of 2019 announced on Twitter that he will be visiting Michigan State on July 31.

This is a major visit for the Spartans because they’re not only trying to establish that pipeline, but they’re also attempting to fend off out-of-state powers like Notre Dame, Auburn and Ohio State who are trying to poach Barnett from their own backyard.

It’s still early in his recruitment, but he is starting to blow up in the recruiting circuit. He has been visiting programs like Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson and even received an offer from the Crimson Tide two weeks ago. He’s up to 19 offers now and he hasn’t even started his junior year.

Barnett’s highlights are quite impressive and his hands are incredibly strong on both sides of the ball. As mentioned earlier, he’s a receiver and cornerback, but his highlights make him look as if he can be a two-way star at the next level. Michigan State embraces that dual-threat mindset.
