Michigan State recruiting received its second commitment in the last few days from three-star offensive tackle Dimitri Douglas.

For some recruits, they just know which offer they want and what will happen once they receive that scholarship. Three-star offensive tackle Dimitri Douglas knew he wanted to be part of Michigan State’s 2018 class and when the Spartans offered, he jumped on it.

Over the weekend, Douglas partook in Michigan State’s football camp and worked hard enough to receive an offer from the coaching staff.

A couple of days later, Douglas officially pulled the trigger. He announced that he’d be committing to Michigan State via Twitter on Monday afternoon.

While the Spartans have been criticized for their lack of solid recruiting, especially following the dismissal of Curtis Blackwell, they have gotten a few commitments in the past few weeks. It started with Michael Dowell, then Jeslord Boateng followed by Davion Williams and now Douglas.

Although he’s not the sought-after blue-chip recruit that Michigan State fans wanted to see commit to aid the offensive line, he’s an aggressive kid with potential. However, one thing that he will need to work on is his tendency to move his hands to the outside.

What I mean by this is that he will get flagged for holding often at the collegiate level if he doesn’t keep his hands inside the shoulders of a defender. He’s guilty of a number of holds on his film, but is an otherwise aggressive, strong kid.
