Michigan State recruiting has extended an offer to four-star 2019 linebacker King Mwikuta from Lagrange, Ga.

Mark Dantonio has inserted himself in the state of Georgia over the past 10 years. The Michigan State head coach isn’t afraid to challenge the SEC in terms of swiping prospects from the Peach State and he’s attempting to once again with four-star 2019 linebacker King Mwikuta.

The elite linebacker reigns from Lagrange, Ga., and is one of the top players in the entire country for his class. A few weeks ago, he announced an offer from Michigan State.

The offer may have just been the latest for the top recruit, but he must look carefully at what Michigan State has to offer. Not just for him, but what the Spartans had offered the recruits from the state of Georgia before him — Darqueze Dennard and Keith Mumphery.

While Mumphery is currently looking for a job following some off-field issues stemming from a 2016 incident, Dennard is on track to be a valuably contributor to the Cincinnati Bengals’ defense. He was a first-round pick in 2014 after coming to MSU as a two-star recruit.

Mwikuta is the No. 68 recruit in the class and a high four-star prospect. If Dantonio can convert a two-star into a first-round pick, imagine what he could do with the 6-foot-4, 205-pound linebacker.

The Spartan defense is also intriguing for young defensive prospects. However, there are plenty of elite schools who have reached out to Mwikuta already, such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee. This one won’t be easy.
